Local 1290 received its charter in 1938 from (LIUNA) Laborers’ International Union of North America. The Local has jurisdiction over all aspects of construction work in our geographical area representing members across the state of Kansas in the construction industry as claimed by LIUNA. This work includes General Construction in Private, Commercial and Industrial Buildings, Heavy Highway Work, Environmental, as well as Mainline Pipeline Construction, Pipeline Distribution Work, and Routine Pipeline Maintenance.
